Information Literacy - Sunny's Speech

www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_GcRMbjRmc
Sunny, at the front of the classroom, explains the task, in Chinese, to the students. He used Chinese because the vast majority of the students in the class couldn't comprehend my spoken and written word.
However, as the movie suggests, some students didn't benefit from the change in the medium of instruction - the boys in the back gather around each other as one student has successfully managed to write foul language, in English, on his calculator.

Did You Know

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljbI-363A2Q
http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2006/08/did-you-know.html

A PowerPoint presentation with some (hopefully) thought-provoking ideas. I was hoping by telling some of these "stories" to our faculty, I could get them thinking about - and discussing with each other - the world our students are entering. To get them to really think about what our students are going to need to be successful in the 21st century, and then how that might impact what they do in their classrooms. It would also help the faculty that are not currently participating in my staff development join the conversation.
